The Weekly Debrief
It’s Friday which means I suddenly had the urge to switch up the weekly series I do here on Substack. Don’t mind me. I was totally inspired to show up here more like a human being instead of “Substack writer”. I think you’d all be surprised at how weird I am😂
I've been doing a very structured, very organized weekly post and honestly it was starting to feel like I was filing a report. This is not a report. This is me telling you random thoughts, sharing cool finds, talking about things I’ve noticed, and hopefully a lil more personality.
The sandals I ordered in four colors like a completely rational person. I talk about these shoes a lot. Because I wear them a lot.I even wrote an entire post about them. But I don’t think enough people are appreciating the jellies!! Well that’s a lie because they’re currently sold out in 2 of 5 colors. I’m actually curious: If you don’t love these (or jellies in general), why?
I fear this is worth every single penny. A couple of months ago, I was introduced to Bonjout Beauty. At first I scoffed at spending money on one product. I did my fair share of research (and lots of deep dives on Reddit). I loved that you could purchase and use the sample first before opening your package. The second I used the sample…I knew I needed to order Le Balm. A few weeks after trying, the brand happened to reach out and I SCORED A PARTNERSHIP WITH THEM!! I’m so excited to share more about this amazing product — and yes, I’ll be bringing JUST this along with my cleanser and SPF on vacation to be the real test.
Can we talk about the word "effortless" for a second? Every brand email I got this week described something as "effortless." Effortless style. Effortless dressing. Effortlessly chic. Nothing about getting dressed is effortless — that's why people work with stylists, duh. BUT it is a good word to describe a certain energy/vibe, ya know??
I keep reaching for this color. Brown. I love brown so much. I don’t know why I’m surprised because it’s probably one of my favorite colors to wear…but there’s something about a good summer brown scratches a specific itch in my brain. What’s your favorite color to wear no matter the season?
Love ICKland. I really don’t want to think I’m aging out of something, but I think I’m aging out of Love Island. This season gives me so many icks, icks that I didn’t even know existed. And I swear to god, Rob keeps imitating Corbin and one of us going to end up in a hospital (tbd on which type of hospital🤪). But I’m obviously going to continue watching it…along with Love Island UK. Because. Yes.
I’m regretting this Pilates challenge. (Half kidding) My friend Ailsa posted about a 25 day PIlates challenge. I randomly decided to join her and I’m on day 5 now. Guys, it is SO hard. I thought I was going to be able to jump right back into working out (I’ve had a five month long break…). Let me tell you, humbled very quickly.
Tbh, I’m bored. Not going to lie, I’m a little bored when scrolling my Instagram feed. I feel like I’m seeing the. same. thing on my feed every other scroll and my algorithm is in desperate need of a reset. Drop your favorite Instagram follows below (fashion, dogs, lifestyle, crafting, etc. anything really!!), I’d love to check them out!!

There’s a couple of reasons why I don’t wear jellies. I have giant baby feet that swell. They are fat and boneless. Like an Idaho potato. Between the cut-outs and the fact that jellies don’t stretch, not a good look. Then theres the sweat and the cutting into flesh of plastic. So not comfy. Summer has me in sneakers, clogs and Birkenstock Arizonas.
I used to hate brown because I couldn’t find a shade that looked good on me. I’ve since changed my mind as long as it’s a rich chocolate brown. Goes with everything and is a nice change from black.
Red. Red is my signature color. I even drive a chili red car.
As for the balm. For that price it would have to make me look 20 years younger. 😜
Pilates by Izzy is no joke 😅
